What’s up infertility fighters? The last post that I put up here at this intfertility blog about this revolutionary fertility device had a link in it describing how well this new gadget is doing over there in the UK. If you did not get a chance to read that information and you are looking for some sore of alternative assistance with getting pregnant than what are you waiting for click on back there and check it out.
Today I wanted to write about a NY Times article that was posted a few weeks ago but I am just getting to now because I was slacking off for a few months from this blog. So as you can imagine I have quite a back log of news resources that I still want to go back and touch base on. Anywho the basic point of the post was describing the ever widening chasm between those folks who think that just because they take care of themselves, eat healthy and look younger than forty that they should be as fertile as they look and feel.
The harsh reality of course is the fact that no matter how well you look on the outside that on the inside nature has it’s own agenda and the window of fertility opportunity is limited. Depending on how well your genetic make up is holding up sometime after the age of 30 and before 40 your internal organs and baby making parts are starting to show their age. In spite of the fact that you outward appearance may look better than ever thanks to plastic surgery, a healthy lifestyle or any of the other tricks that so many of us do to retain our youthful looks.
The post goes on with a few examples of some 40 something women who were operating under this misconeption only to be rudly awakened by the harsh realities of infertility at their age. So the question I have is there a really this disconnect in society where women are unaware of how limited their oppotunities to bear children are? If so is that just a by product of the way the media almost glorifies all the hollywood types that seem to “naturally” have babies over the age of 40? By all means leave your interesting responses in the comments section down below and as you finish up, here is the link to the original Fertility is a matter of age article over at the NY Times.
Until the next time, keep fighting infertility ![]()
