When Are You To Old For IVF?

It’s interesting to get the perspective on infertility and how it is viewed by other social circles in different parts of the world. That’s why when I saw the latest ivf news alert come across my email today I immediately clicked on over to an article from a website in Ireland.

According to writer and the information that they gathered for their post couples that are struggling with infertility and go through the challenge of trying IVF can become stronger as a couple….. wow that a revelation! Not really just a little sarcasm on my part please forgive me.

Stress of IVF

Stress of IVF

Dealing with IVF and the emotional roller coaster ride that it is will do one of two things for a couple that is going through that nonsense. As a couple you will either get destroyed by the emotional toll that it takes or as they stated you will become stronger as a couple.

I think that just comes down to the type of relationship you have and how committed you are to each other. Is it fight or flight basically? Here is the link to the original article it has some basic information and stats about doing IVF in your thirties as opposed to waiting until you are forty and as you would expect the earlier you do it the better your odds of conceiving a child.

It did bring something to my attention that I had not really heard of over here in the US is the fact that Rod Stewart who is 66 now and his young wife are successfully pregnant now thanks to their third IVF attempt. The age thing was not really a big deal to me when we heard about it here in the US as I think I saw maybe just a small blurb about the fact that they were pregnant. I did not even know it was due to IVF, I guess that was not big news here or maybe Rod is not as popular here as he used to be?

On that note do you have any issues with older people and when I say older I am referring to those over 50 who are doing IVF and getting pregnant at and age when the natural progression of life is not to be having children but getting ready for them to be moving on with their own lives and they to start enjoying their later years with out kids.
