Overestimating Success Rates Of Infertility Science Is Dooming Wanna Be Parents

Contrary to popular belief science can not fix everything when it comes to infertility. We all know the prevailing trends are for people to wait longer to have their babies. Well regardless of how good the infertility science gets the longer you wait the harder it gets to get pregnant and carry your baby full term.

Popular opinion would have you believe especially if you read all the sensationalized stories in the news about women over forty getting pregnant is that the science behind IVF is getting better. Indeed it is getting better and they are making advancements all the time but let’s be realistic here women have a limited window of opportunity to bear children and that is simply the way of the world. They have a certain amount of eggs and certain amount of cycles and once their done they are done regardless of what science tells you.

Here is a steady fact about those aged over 40 and trying to conceive with the assistance of IVF, better than 90 percent of those attempts are failures.  Like I said there is limited window of time which if you are lucky can be anywhere from 10 to 20 years of your life and then you are pretty much done. I am not saying that there are not valid reasons for waiting until your later years to have a baby, just don’t be blind to the fact that your odds of conceiving are extremely small once you hit that 40 age group.

What are your opinions on this blind faith that people have in the science of infertility treatments being more successful than it really is? Leave your thoughts in the comments section down below and here is a link to the original story about how Postponing motherhood places too much faith in reproductive science.
