Hello once again infertility fighters the last time I wrote for this blog we were talking about getting IVF treatments at reduced costs. Considering that price of getting an IVF procedure done is usually the main obstacle preventing people from getting one. I decided that a follow-up post on finding a cheaper alternative would do us all some good right now. Plus I happened to have come across a new PR release in our inbox promoting a ‘new money-saving approach to IVF’.
I know what you are thinking right about now because it is probably the very same thought that my wife and I used to think every time she stumbled across a new cheaper way to get pregnant. Yeah right sure it will save us money and of course it will have a better success rate than the more expensive procedures. Is that not what they all promise to do for you? Hasn’t it all become a big advertising game at this point I mean seriously the only reason why I know about this new cheaper alternative to IVF is because of a press release by the doctor who is doing it! Nothing like a little self promotion right?
Let me pull back on the sarcasm here and get back to the point of this post which was talking about this new procedure called Micro or Mini IVF. Let’s start off with the good promises first, it may increase your odds of success to 30% in comparison to the 10% to 15% rates of traditional IVF. The potential savings of a Mini IVF is about 25% below the cost of a traditional procedure and best of all the side effects are greatly reduced! Does that not all just sound too good to be true? Yep I was thinking the same thing, that it probably is but who am I to judge I am just merely sharing the information with a small dose of my own opinion.
Part of doing the micro-ivf procedure is getting a work up for acupuncture treatments to help reduce the stress and anxiety levels that everyone experiences. I must admit that I do like the inclusion of acupuncture as part of the process and reduced risk of long-term side effects is always a plus. Here is a link that will by-pass the PR fluff and take you directly to the doctors clinic that gives you the full details on what is a mini-ivf. Because at the end of the day my only real purpose for writing new posts for this infertility blog is to spread word and possibly help even a little bit those of you that are still fighting infertility.
