Finding Infertility Help

Where do I go to find infertility support? Does that sound like a familiar question to you? If it does believe me when I tell you that you are not alone. It seems like for those of us that are on this long journey of fighting infertility that there are more days of questions than there are answers. When you go to fertility specialist after fertility specialist all of the telling you the same thing with a little tweak in procedure here or there. More paps, more runs to the morning blood test, more ultra sounds and still no answers and just more questions it’s hard to decide who to turn to in finding help for infertility.

With out going into to much detail on this post our families issue is very low FSH and as anyone will tell you that basically the quantity of eggs is down to nothing at this point. What most inferitlity doctors will tell you with this type of situation is that there is not much that they can do for you. Why do most of them turn away patients with low probablity of success? I hope most of you that read this already know the answer to that question but if you don’t. Infertility cases with low probability of success are usually turned away because it messes with their success rates. Success rates for in vitro fertilization is a numbers game plain and simple.

Unfortunate but true that the challenge for a lot of us in finding infertility help is in fighting the system. It’s been over ten years now that we have been fighting inferitlity so we have learned to accept some of the cold hard facts about the finding infertility doctors that are willing to work on “hopeless cases” until that patient is willing to say no more. Make no mistake though there are fertility specialists out there that are more concerned with the patients needs than the infertility numbers game.

Over the years it has been easy to loose count of the number of infertility doctors that we have tried and left gone back to and left again. The key of course to finding the infertility help that you need is to not take no for an answer. Let’s face the facts for what ever reason the need for infertility doctors has a growing demand as more and more of us are fighting infertility every day. Science is advancing infertility treatments all the time and the technology behind making babies has become big business. You may find at some point in your long journey that the best way to approach the task of finding infertility help is to look at as a business proposition. If this feritlity doc is not willing to take my business than I will find an infertility doctor that will.

My advice to anyone on the journey to fight infertility is to pick your battles in finding the infertility help you need. Learn to not bring emotion into it and I realize that this may be a hard thing to do. Perhaps it’s made easier by an unfortunate number of years of experience  nope  it’s not really just thought I would try and put up a brave face for you. Trying to be an example and all that kind of stuff. Fighting infertility is a long and hard road and I don’t care how tuff you think you may be it sucks to no end! There I said it and I know you were thinking the very same thing…… at least we are not alone in our fight ;-)
